Meeting the Demands of the Edible Oil Industry
PFM SCREEN has successfully developed wide-width ultra-flat fine wire mesh. This achievement strengthens the company’s advanced manufacturing capabilities. The new products are designed for the edible oil industry, one of PFM SCREEN’s six core service sectors.
Edible oil processing includes both crude oil extraction and refining. These processes require stainless steel wire mesh in multiple specifications. Product cleanliness and surface flatness are critical. High weaving accuracy is also essential. The primary materials used are AISI 316L and 904L stainless steel, which offer excellent corrosion resistance and hygienic performance.
Cross-Department R&D and Equipment Upgrades
In 2019, the PFM SCREEN R&D Center formed a dedicated product development team. The team integrated resources from multiple departments. Research focused on tooling design and raw material performance. Clear standards were established for material properties and production processes.
At the same time, PFM SCREEN upgraded its original Japanese-imported weaving equipment. Automation improvements enhanced precision and production stability. These upgrades played a key role in achieving ultra-flat wide-width mesh.
Successful Product Development and Market Validation
By the end of 2019, two products were successfully developed. These include a 128 × 36 mesh, 1800 mm wide reverse dutch weave mesh. A 24 × 110 mesh, 1800 mm wide dutch weave mesh was also completed.
Both products passed customer inspection and production trials. Surface flatness and overall quality fully met technical requirements. The meshes are now supplied to customers in stable, large-scale production.
