Pleated Filter Disc Manufacturer | High Surface Area Metal Filter Discs
A Pleated Filter Disc is a high-efficiency filtration component manufactured by folding (pleating) metal wire mesh or fiber media into a compact disc shape to significantly increase the effective filtration area within a limited footprint. Compared with flat filter discs, pleated designs offer higher dirt-holding capacity, lower pressure drop, and longer service life, making them ideal for demanding industrial filtration applications.
Pleated Filter Discs are commonly produced from stainless steel wire mesh, sintered wire mesh, fiber felt, or multi-layer composite media, and can be supplied with or without edge reinforcement.
For applications requiring structural rigidity or sealing integrity, pleated discs can also be combined with frames or edge bindings. In such configurations, related products may be referred to as Framed Filter Discs, also known in the industry as Encased Screen Discs or Edge-Bound Filter Discs.
Pleated Filter Discs are widely used in hydraulic systems, chemical processing, polymer filtration, oil & gas, food and beverage, pharmaceutical production, and air or liquid filtration systems.
Advantages of Pleated Filter Disc
- Increased Filtration Area
The pleated structure multiplies the effective surface area compared to flat discs, allowing higher flow rates and improved filtration efficiency within the same installation space. - Lower Pressure Drop
By distributing flow across a larger surface area, pleated filter discs reduce differential pressure, contributing to energy savings and system stability. - High Dirt-Holding Capacity
Pleats trap more contaminants before clogging, resulting in longer service intervals and reduced maintenance costs. - Excellent Mechanical Strength
When manufactured from stainless steel or sintered wire mesh, pleated filter discs maintain structural integrity under high pressure, temperature fluctuations, and pulsating flow conditions. - Wide Material and Micron Range
Available in a broad selection of filtration media, micron ratings, and layer structures to suit fine, coarse, or absolute filtration requirements. - Customizable Design
Pleat height, pleat count, disc diameter, edge treatment, and support layers can be customized to meet specific system requirements or OEM designs. - Reusable and Cleanable
Metal pleated filter discs can be back-flushed, ultrasonically cleaned, or chemically cleaned, offering long service life and reduced operating costs.
