Stainless Steel Knitted Mesh | High-Performance Metal Knitted Wire for Filtration & Demisting
Stainless Steel Knitted Mesh is a highly elastic and interlocking wire mesh structure produced by continuously knitting stainless steel wire into a series of interconnected loops. Unlike woven wire mesh, knitted mesh forms a three-dimensional, spring-like structure that provides exceptional compression performance, resilience, and multi-directional flexibility.
Due to its robust mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, and ability to withstand extreme temperatures, stainless steel knitted mesh is widely used in gas–liquid separation, demisters, filtration, sealing, vibration damping, EMI/RFI shielding, and thermal insulation.
The material is available in multiple stainless steel grades, including 304, 304L, 316, 316L, and high-temperature alloys. It can be manufactured in various forms such as plain/flattened mesh, ginned mesh, compressed components, rings, and custom shapes, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial processes and engineered systems.
Advantages of Stainless Steel Knitted Mesh
- Excellent Corrosion and Chemical Resistance
Manufactured from premium stainless steel, the mesh delivers outstanding resistance to oxidation, chemical corrosion, and thermal degradation, ensuring long service life in harsh industrial environments. - Superior Elasticity and Compression Recovery
The knitted loop structure behaves like a metal spring, providing exceptional elasticity, rebound characteristics, and multidirectional deformation capability. This makes it highly effective for sealing, shock absorption, and vibration damping. - High Filtration Efficiency & Dirt-Holding Capacity
The multi-layered structure traps fine particles, droplets, aerosols, and contaminants efficiently, enabling excellent performance in demister pads and filtration systems. - Versatile Processing & Forming Ability
The mesh can be flattened, ginned, layered, or compressed into custom shapes such as pads, rings, gaskets, cylinders, and blocks—offering great flexibility for engineering design and OEM applications. - EMI/RFI Shielding Capability
Stainless steel knitted mesh provides effective electromagnetic shielding due to its conductive, multi-contact loop structure. It is frequently used in electronics, enclosures, cable shielding, and waveguide applications. - High Mechanical Strength and Durability
The robust stainless steel construction ensures long-term resistance to fatigue, abrasion, and deformation, even under repeated stress or vibration.
